Book of Proverbs

Adult Study

Would you like to make better dicisions that you won't regret?   Would you like to know how to make good finacial planning for your household?  Do you need help rearing chldren?

There is one bible book that offers so much wisdom, we can actually feed off of it daily for the rest of life.

The book of Proverbs addresses a wide spectrum of basic human wise applications.  Some non-biblical books that we read are full of fluff with very little to really apply and enjoy, but Proverbs is different.  Every word, every sentence has something to think about and apply and pass on to others.  It is a rich book on human decency, courtesies, financial planning and so much more.

For this reason, the book of Proberbs is a timely study for such as times as these that we are living in.

II Samuel

Teen Study

Every nation needs to be governed by laws, ordinances and common rule. What’s the difference between tribal governing, a monarchy, a theocracy and modern republic democracies?

We not only see how the Israelites went from a tribal form of government to a kingship, we also see other valuable lessons in this book.

For instance, Israel’s first king Saul showed great humility, patience, and courageous leadership but he degenerated into a sullen, impatient and rebellious leader. He refused to follow God’s commands. For this he was replaced by a young man. The lesson is that everyone is dispensable. How can you prepare yourself in life to be the one replacing someone else?

Learning Character

Children's Study

D.L. Moody once said, "If I take care of my character, my reputation will take care of itself".  At Journey we see the need to come alongside parents to assist in teaching their children on how to develop biblical character.  Every Sunday morning the children learn one important character.  At their worship hour there is a continium in the presentation but using different methods.  In addition, throughout their education at Journey, they learn how to share Christ and how to present the Roman's Road to salvation.  We call it CROWNS: Children Reaching Out With the News of Salvation.

On Sunday Nights our children travel with Ken Ham's group "Answer's In Genesis" or AIG.  It is important that our children learn apologetics at a young age.  We believe that God created the heavens and the earth.  For this reason, we feel it's important to equip our children with rock solid information so they may have healthy conversatons about their beliefs.  At least twice a month, our children will have a movie night and game night to support and enhance their learning experience.
